As most of you are aware I have a link ecu now, so can I remove the sensor marked in yellow? if I do what do I do with it? and does that mean I can remove the thing that the sensor goes into? and if so what do I replace it with?

The red sensor - what do I do with it? where do I put it? I now have a fmic, and piping goes accross that area, what is that thing used for? how do i remove it? and as already asked, what do I do with the sensor bit?

Christian, (disclaimer as always, not a pro, not a Link owner)

The MAF sensor (yellow one) can safely be removed with the Link. You'd only want to keep it there if you ever want to reconnect the original ECU again (but you could bolt it on again at that time). If you never want to swap ECU again, you might want to sell it as it is, erm, an item that has been known to go wrong, and is a tad at the expensive side of the spectrum

The red sensor (I think) is STi specific ... I was told it is an intake temp sensor. I don't know if you can just remove it or not.

HTH,

Theo

As mentioned maf sensor (yellow) can be removed if you want, replace the whole thing with plain smooth pipe is ok, just unplug the connector but make sure you tape it up well to seal it as it has live voltages in it.

The red sensor is used by Link and is the air temp sensor, just remove from the plastic housing and re-position wherever the air intake is now, if the air filter is in the inner wing for example, them place it in the inner wing , its intended to tell the ecu what the ambient temperature is.
