you'd be better off putting a proper fully synth oil in the DCCD box..................

we normally use CRX75w90 millers, alyn

Does not the DCCD box need a LS compatible fluid?

The DCCD is at the back of the gearbox, uses the same oil as the gearbox.

LSD's need specific oil, but I don't believe that I ever said that a Dccd box does. What I possibly said was, that if it [ dccd ] was making too much noise then it may have been tightened up in Japan and THEN LSD oil would help quieten it.

Otherwise any good brand of synthetic 75 W 90 is fine - just as Alyn says above. LSD oil will not do any harm in a dccd box even so.

only minor d/side you can see in a DCCD box if you use LSD specific oil is the synchro's sometimes aren't as nice as they should be, a good quality synth oil (NOT Syntrax!!) will happily cope with the centre LSD action...............

Sorry, I sort of miss read the original question!

I was refering to the rear diff needing different oil. I'm using Syntrax in the gearbox of my TypeR, but I thought that I shouldn't use it in the rear diff? Or am I wrong on that too!? Thanks.

Ross.

Is the confusion down to the generic use of the phrase LSD.. as there are various types that need to be treated differently?...Plated diffs need a different oil to the Suretrac diffs etc...

My 03sti has suretrac front diff and xtreme scoobs used 75w90 fully synth, it's part of the gearbox that uses the same oil.
