Question 740cc injectors, before re-map?????

Hi,
Just need a quick bit of advice please.....
1995 JDM STI version 2
power fc +commander
FMIC
Apexi boost controller
Warlbro fuel pump.
740 cc injectors

The question is, i recently had the motor put on the rollers, and it had 296 BHP!
The power fc unit +boost con, injectors, fuel pump have not yet been installed.
I have been advised that because of the TD05 turbo i will only push 320-330 BHP, once mapped, and that the injectors are an over kill, (advised by people to go bigger, incase of future plans!!!)

Would this be the case that the injectors are to big for this kind of BHP?
If anyone has a bigger turbo 18-20Gish please pm me!
Thanks

740cc are a bit over-kill.
If they are the cheap single point Venom 740's from the states I wouldn't bother fitting them anyway.

You should be able to get 320BHP from the 380's if you up the pressure.

On normal fuel pressure, 740cc are good for over 500 bhp. 550cc injectors for under 400bhp and a bit more with a lift in pressure.
440cc yellow will do about 320 bhp and more with an uplift in fuel pressure.

An 05 is ok for 340 bhp with all supporting mods, sometimes a bit more.
05-06 18G around 360 plus and a 20G typically 380 bhp.
These are just ball park figures that are generally achieved and intended as a relative guide to assist you only.

So, is there a problem with going for the 740cc injectors with this build, and could the duty cycly be turned down?

why would it be an overkill???

You say with this build. But to me it doesn't sound like much of a build. Just and ECU upgrade and a FMIC.

Big injectors, unless expensive multi-point will struggle to idle and may cause the car to fail it's MOT.

Harvey's pointed out what power can be expected for certain injector cc's. It depends on you ultimate goal.

I know of 2 cars that used Venom's, both idled rough and in both cases for some reason after they begain to run rich a couple of weeks after the remap. So needed another remap to sort.

One of these cars was sold on, and I think there were further issues with AFR when it was taken to a RR for a check-up.
