legacy gearbox on an impreza?

Hi i have been wondering does the gearbox from a legacy turbo fit on an impreza as it has the same start of the code is the same and its the same engine type?

UK leggy turbo and UK impreza turbo use a pretty much identical box and swap no issue.................

Same issues between different model years though, early ones have less bolts plus different arrangement for one by starter (can't remember which is which).
