Fuchs Titan Gear Oil - Decent Syntrax Alternative?
Hi All
Time to do the box and diff oil in my family's 2 Imprezas (both non-turbo). Usually use Castrol Syntrax/Driveline 75W90 but I find the box starts to crunch a bit after about 18 months and is fixed by new gear oil. I think the oil should be lasting longer as the service interval is 24 months and I'm only doing low milage. Hence thinking of alternatives.
Looking on Opie Oil's website I see Fuchs Titan Gear Syn 75W90 semi-synth meets the same specs as Syntrax yet is a fair bit cheaper. Is this worth a try or should I go for a fully synthetic this time? Bit much to spend over £50 on each car for gear oil, but will do if it's worth it.
Cheers,
Ben
