Syncro, Gearbox Advice
Hey i have a 1995 WRX and the synchro is possibly completly f*cked. Sometimes under load in 1st and 2nd gear it will pop out off gear and when you go to pop it back into a gear it appears if nothing is there, and its just a soilid block, then 5 minutes later all the gears come back. That and the clutch is f*cked so think i should just replace the gearbox and get a Exeedy Race clutch . . . .
But whats my best option, ill have about 800 pounds for the box, but if i can get away with spending alot less then that would help greatly as the clutch isnt going to be cheap ! Would i be able to get a six speed box, or a type ra with DCCD box to fit in my car? and more importantly could i find one for under 800 including the diff if needed to change ??
Personally what would you do ? Go for a six speed, or a RA box wit DCCD or just pick up another standard WRX gearbox
Thanx for any help, Harvey

you can get a good 2nd hard standard gearbox for a few hundred its going to cost around £5/600 if you hunt for good prices.
ive just had my clutch done
clutch £200 for an uprated one for up to 350 bhp
fit £200 could have got cheaper but had some problems the clutch that came out was a ap racing paddle push type and the new one was a pull/standard type so took longer to do and had to find more bits to go with it before could sort it

Im noy worried about the fitting so much, just which gearbox and diff and how much work is going to be involved, also i cant order the race clutch till i know which box its going in !
but i dont know how much its going to cost to get a six speed, or get a ra box with a DCCD
