Default rebuilding your own turbo

Has any body had a go at reconditioning ther own turbo? and is it hard to do? ive seen some kits at £50 for sale to rebuild the td04, mines starting to smoke a bit

You could probably get a 2nd-hand TD04 that hasn't covered many miles for £50.

Look up Melett they are based in West Yorkshire somewhere and do all sorts of bits for turbos, from seals to wheels and different types of kits too.

I do know you'll need to buy some big internal circlip pliers - 3mm tips 14inch or so handles.
