306 'orrible grinding noise!!! HELP....
Hello peeps,
Hoping someone may be able to shed some light my way.
My younger bro has a 306td, today he fitted a new lower swing arm, once back together the car is now making a lovely humming/vibration/grinding noise, even at low speed.
Once home from work, we put the car up one wheel at a time, the driver side spins nicely with no noise, yet the passenger side (side that lower swing arm was replaced) makes a noise, almost buggered wheel bearing type noise.
We don't think that the wheel bearing has gone that quick, nor hopefully the gear box. What we're hoping is that maybe someone may have an idea?? We think that it could possibly be the driveshaft, but it was fine before the lower swing arm was done, can it be damaged that easily? Or would it take time to go wrong??
Many thanks for any help...
