Default power on/off clunk

Any one had this, 2003 STI when gently pulling away or slowing down (i.e. taking up slack in drive and then unwind slack) i get a loud clunk.

Taken to two diff Suabru dealers for warrenty, 1st fitted two new shocks and mounts no differance, 2nd fitted new diff complete, exactly the same.

Noise is not suspension related if in coasting over bumps no noise, but as soon as you apply power or back off, clunk, clunk. It does this in all gears but easier in 1st 2nd and 3rd to get.

It sounds like something banging or slack in bearing being taken up, its loud enough for people in car to notice with radio on.

Load makes no diff, one person or five in car still does it.

Any help would be good as warrenty out soon, bit worried could be gearbox or prop uj, both very expensive.

Thanks Jase.
