Default How strong is the Newage WRX gearbox

How many out there have broke there standard 5-speed box on there newage WRX.

Please state what year WRX and what power your car was running when broke. As I would like to see how much power people where running when there gearbox let go.

Thanks

Have faith,

You was running 400lb/ft through yours so hopefully it shows that the 5-speed from the WRX are stronger, just hope it holds together for you, and give me some faith on getting more power from my car.

Just want to see how many newage WRX gearboxes have broke, as I havent heard many stories on here of the trusty newage gearbox breaking.

Dont think it matters either way, those boxes are the same/very similar to the older boxes so they suffer the same problems.
300lbs of torque is deemed to be about the cut off for one before you can start breaking them.

Been told a number of times that the new-age 5 speeds are a bit stronger than the old ones... but I personally wouldn't expect it to last long running much over 300lbf, but a lot comes down to whether or not you are prepared to show it a bit of mechanical sympathy.
