Default APS cold air kit!!! and std airbox

I've just fitted the CAK to my classic and what a pain in the backside to get the HUGE airbox from behind the inner wing, why so big?? Also there is a metal bracket behind the wheel arch liner supposedly to support the wing arch etc, does it matter if I leave this off as it won't fit now with the filter on??

Regards

Chris

Chris,

Its the induction pipe , i got it from RCM, there part number for the blue hose is SHO38.

all in inc. VAT and delivery (registered 1st class) was £68.02

please note that there isn't the breather connection on the underneath of the pipe. i'm running without the carbon canister so it was another pipe i could get rid of.

Note that this APS CAK will cause the maf to read low causing a change in real afr from 3% to 22% across the load range, suggest you get the fueling checked asap and be careful until you do. If you are using aftermarket management (speed density) then will not be an issue)

Default APS CAK on classic.

Nice pics of the APS cold air kit there Dogpole .
I'm getting mine fitted on Thursday and map adjusted by Andy on Monday (UK '00) .
Could I ask where you got the blanking piece for the hole on the inner wing - the one where the intake pipe went ? it looks tidy .
I was thinking of keeping the intake pipe so that some cold air would be ducted into the wing , but I like the blank you have .
Thoughts anyone ?

I did this on mine. Not sure how much difference it makes, but getting cold air into the area with the ram effect of the front intake can't be a bad thing... On and it's free
