Default TSL Firestorm Vs Vortex Afterburner

Anybody compared the two on a newage STi PPP ??

From what i've heard of the afterburner i'm very impressed, also heard good things of the Firestorm, i'm after something with a good burble, but not so loud that it'll **** the neighbours off and attract the attention of Mr plod too much.

I've got a TSL Tiphoon (pretty much the same as a Firestorm) on my bugeye WRX with partial decat and it is LOUD. Great sound but don't expect too many admiring glances off the neighbours.

It's also a bit intrusive in the cabin, even when pootling along with the radio turned up.

GREEEEEAAAAT sound though!!

can only comment on classic, but i found with full decat the actual noise level is about the same.

firestorm is a raspy sort of noise that got on my **** on long motorway drives.
the afterburner is a much deeper note, a real growl then a howl further up the revs.

personally was never keen on the look of the firestorm whereas the afterburner is alot neater and a much nicer piece of kit to look at.

between the 2 i'd be picking the afterburner

by the way, i don't think you'll be to popular with the neighbours if they like a bit of piece and quiet if you go for either of these not intrusive, just loud.

I have just gone from a prodrive to a Hayward and scott backbox, which means it is the same as the afterburner as they make that exhaust

The sound difference is awsome, it is louder, but the real difference is the actual sound that is heard, its a much deeper sound and a completely differnet sound, it sounds like a real scooby now

It is also louder probably by 25-50% but not boy racer loud just quality
