Default 2001wrx auto converting to manual

hi have a 2001 wrx auto with knackered gearbox wanting to change to manual , i know off all the parts needed but is there any unforseen problems with the ecu etc etc have read a couple of threads on this but all seam to be on classics . also would the clocks not need changing aswell any info greatly appreciated kirby32

Kirby32, Sorry just picked up on this. I just don't believe it'll be too hard you need the obvious parts: all the clutch hydraulics, pedal box, gearbox propshaft, selector linkage the panels in the floor that fit over the gearlever, etc.

I am fairly certain that the dials will all be OK as will the speedo drive. You'll need to disconnect and remove the auto tm ECU which on a classic is up behind the dash behind the speedo and dials. I guess it may be in a similar place on the GDA / GDB The engine ECU doesn't need to be touched in my opinion.
