Currently have a standard 94 wrx import and i'm looking to ditch the standard can for a cat back system as above.

Before i spend the money on this exhaust can anyone tell me what they are like. I've heard rumours of 20bhp extra although i'm always dubious of these claims.

Any info hugely appreciated as i'm looking to buy within next 4 weeks.

expect nothing apart from ringing ears and complaining neighbours and frezzing cold passengers as you drive with the window down in all weathers

get rid of the downpipe and you may notice a jump in bhp \ response

You may find this post helpful- my impressions after fitting a quieter system than a Nur spec. You may find the volume a bit much with such a system, I'd hear a few in action before you purchase.

It's not so much the extra power you notice as much as the improvement in responsiveness, particularly at low revs. Given that your car is an import, I'd consider getting a knocklink if you've not already got one.

an exhaust on its own whilst retaining the original catted downpipe will not give you a major increase, probably only a few bhp. However if you were to decat the downpipe as well then thats another matter. They are supposedly very noisy though (personally I like noise)

 

A very sore head, but seriously i lasted 2 weeks then sold it on .
Sounds brill but just to loud all the time, with the bung it sounds crap so whats the point.

After having a Ninja, NurSpecR i have went back to me old fav and got a magnex.

Good balance on burble and sound.

I had a NUR spec R on my 94 WRX. Cant give before and after opinions, as i bought the car with it on!

It was decatted all the way through as well. With no bung in it. Was RIDICULOUSY loud, but i loved it!!

 

I've got a NUR spec with a 3" H&S decat downpipe, it's bloody loud mate! It sounds awesome, but, on long journeys it does get annoying!!! You could always put the bung in it for long trips!!!

My mates and parents can hear me coming from over a mile away it's that loud!!!!

how does the ful decat nurspec compare to a full decat with a firestorm box.
much louder?

 

i dont know how loud the firestorm is as iv never heard one in action. what i do know is that my nurspec r with decat is really stupid loud. this is a bit tiring at times but i just love it!!!!
