Question Clutch and Flywheel????

Hi, just after your thoughts and info.

Roughly how long should a Clutch and Flywheel last on a MY00 UK Turbo? Car is running with PPP so got a little more power going through it.

Cheers,

Chris

Guess it all depends on how hard you drive it. Normal driving conditions would see about 80k plus imo. Hoon it on and off the track an you'll only see a fraction of that.

The clutch on my full decat MY99 (same power as a PPP) was still going strong after 60k miles when I sold it. Didn't do any drag or track work, but it didn't get that easy a life

I have 98 PPP Wagon - just put in the cars second clutch at 85000 miles, first was around 42,000 so seems to be a pattern there. Its history suggests it hasn't had a particularly hard life (but we all say that when selling don't we!).

Excedy organic from API group buy for me with lightened flywheel - great combo.

Same group buy for me, total cost was 850 with a few other bits but well worth it, no judder megger fast changes(wrx ra)...spot on. Old clutch lasted 60000 miles.

Clutch was fine, pulled centre out

Question

Hi all,

Ok had new Clutch and Flywheel fitted, but the car seems different some how, doesn’t feel like it pulls as hard on boost and the rev’s seem to linger when letting off the accelerator instead of drop straight back to idle. Is this normal behaviour while the new Clutch and Flywheel are bedding in?

Whats you thought’s?

Cheers, Chris

Same sought of thing with mine, feels like torque is down but still boosts the same. The car feels a lot smoother through the rev range, its like driving a different car.I also have asked this question but no repley.I presume that means everything is OK

My 1999 turbo original clutch is still going strong after 119k miles, so is everything else actually, only thing ever been replaced other than brakes, tyres etc since new is the MAF and turbo/actuator circlip recently. Not ppp though so I guess it makes all the difference.
