Default Decat on WR1

I've been wanting to decat for a while now, to let a few more of the muted pops and bangs through I hear on over-run.

I've searched this forumn and wr1oc and have come to the conclusion that a full decat is not for me, but a centre decat sounds a good comprimise on increasing noise, without loosing any performance or causing engine reliability issues.

What centre decat pipe will fit? Scoobyworld do a Afterburner cat pipe which I think is manufacturerd by Hayward and Scott. Will this do the job? Anyone fitted the centre pipe that bins the resonator?
Cheers

Anders

ithought the wr1 had ppp and therefore no centre cat,if you just replace resonated centre section without changing bb i do not think you will get much noise difference-you prob need to get bb to be less restrictive to get better sound

I had a look under the car and it seems to have cat after the downpipe. Or perhaps it is a straight through pipe and only a heat shield that I'm looking at?

Don't want to chnage the bb. I like the rasp that comes out after 4000 rpm

Perhaps Mike Wood can comment if he see's this post.

Cheers

Anders

Anders,
Its as you say - Subaru put on the decat section then refit the heat shields over it.

Cheers lads. Everyone comments on how awesome (and unique) the Prodrive bb sounds (Evo owners included), so it's staying!

Do you think I'll get a bad droning sound in the cabin if I replace the resonator section?
