Are Dump Valves and Blow Off Valves the same thing?

I'm after one for my Type-R STi V5.
Whats the best one for quality and sound?

I've heard that messing about with things like this in a V5 can lead to MAF sensor failure. Is this true?

 

The best setup is the one you already have. Don't mess with it.

 

I removed the aftermarket, when I purchased my sti ppp, and purchased an original from subaru, I personally noticed no diffrence in performance and got rid of that granny frightning noise.

 

if you do go for one get something like a hks ssq. they have a wastegate type chatter at low revs and save the really boy racer pssstchchhhh when you really open it up.

 

My Forge Motorsport one is like that, very little noise at low revs apart from a little bit of chatter, open it up and you get the noise !!

they are the very same thing, it just that americans and aussies call em blow off valves, ive the hks ssqv, grand job she is, that wastegate chatter u hear on some others tho sounds the coolest of the lot
