thanks for that im expecting the worst - this is my second g/box by looks of it then
never really did trust the place i hed it done by first!

What 'better' gearboxes could i get hold of as direct gearboxes. Money not 2 big a deal as i know they not cheap so say what no more than£800 / £1000 for good box? any ideas. Had to pay £650 plus vat last time and did not know of anyone as i just got the car.

What sort of price would i be looking at?
Want the same type of ratio but heavier duty - is this poss?

Let me know if you want a cheap 93/94 JDM WRX. I have one that was replaced with a six speed.
No damage, 70k, nothing funny. Sitting on a pallet awaiting me to get rid of it.

Andy of Grade A is a bike racer and I think there's something going on in the Isle of Man this week so maybe he's taken a few days ' Off '

Sounds like you are sorted then Tim??

Good luck - sorry we couldn't help this time.

David APi Engines / APi Impreza

PS Mark A's car is a wagon so maybe his box will have the code you need. I've driven his car and the 5 speeder was fine for operation.

yeh all sorted thanks dave@api

grade a only decided to help 'properley' after i mentioned your name and that it was you who put me on to them. so was abit peed with them. In the end it turned out they did not have either of the boxes you mentioned. * this is not a dig at grade-a's reputation or anything etc, so its not a start for arguements just stating the facts tht when i rang, i asked for 2 type of gearbox codes and they said they had them. Rang the next morning before i set off to confirm and what do you know, not got them and was questioning me why i wanted either of them in a funny tone, saying i should have the original type which i did not really want. hence wasted a day of searching etc and ended up seeing andy @ central subaru for a standard box (mint condition) for dare i say it far less than grade-a.

Again not a dig at anyone just one of those days i reckon. nevermind.

So ended up getting hold of a 96' wrx replacement to put me on until that goes then will probably be going for the british box and drives etc conversion.

thanks all for all the help everyone.

tim
