Default Ammunition Needed

Hi, I need some info to help me argue with my dealer. I am about to take my MY00 in for the second time for the 'jumping out of 5th gear' problem. The first time they replaced the nut and locking washer but the same problem has come back. I clearly want it done under warranty. So far they are saying they want to have a good look 'to see if there is something else causing the nut to come loose'. I can't for the life of me see what that could be except that they didn't do it up or stake it properly the first time. They have mentioned 'other problems associated with 5th gear'. Does anyone know what the other 5th gear mods are, and why did the nuts come loose in the first place?
Thanks,
Graham

Mine needed new 5th gear synchro and selector bushes when mine was jumping out of 5th. Not had a problem since.

Thanks for that, Si. Can anyone tell me what the 'factory mods' to My00 gearboxes are in terms of problem, causes, solution, especially in connection with 5th gear problems?

Graham
