5th gear lock nut, how tight ?
I'm suffering from the usual 5th gear crunch on selection problem on my 94 wrx, I have removed the centre diff from the gear box and I can clearly see that the nut has moved from it's original position.
I'm going to buy a new lock nut but what is the correct tightening procedure for the lock nut, ie what torque should it be.
Cheers Colin.

If I remember correct, I think it should be 100NM. I did mine to that and then some. Give the thread a good degreasing and use loctite. I did this 60,000 miles ago and had no problems.

The box is out of the car at the moment, is there any easy way of looking the the shaft so that I can tighten the nut back up ?
Cheers Colin.
