Can`t get 1st gear!
My `95 legacy will not go into first,
a few people recon its a bent selector possibly, it does not crunch or make any other disturbing noises, just feels as if something is pushing against it no matter how much force is involved!
is it a new box or does it sound like something is bent that could be repaired?

I've got the same problem with my gearbox on MY99 classic turbo... it's 5th gear in mine though...
It's off to TEG Motorsport in 2 weeks for new gears, synchro and whatever else is needed...

Call David on www.apiengines.co.uk on monday.
Presume you can get the other gears all 'normally'?
Anyway round, it will be a box out.
If you can't get anything then its the clutch.

yep other gears are fine, it got gradually harder and harder to select until it would not select at all, this all happened after the engine was put back in, was perfect before hand.
