gear oil recemedations
whats the best or near enough best gear oil to use in my 94 wrx sti i had a look at the dipstick and its below min so i need to top it up asap also is it true that its got to be filled through the dipstick hole any help much appreciated cheers will

I have just took mine for a test drive after changing the gearbox oil on my 95sti.
I used silkolene silktran syn5. Cost about £9 per litre but well worth it as everytime i selected 3rd gear I would get a crunch and it has now GONE.
Yes you do fill from the dipstick hole and fill slightly over the max mark as apparently these gearboxes work better slightly overfilled.
