Default Boost Solenoid!! See Piccy. Where is it?

Ok ,I took what I thought was the boost solenoid off, give it a clean with brake cleaner, and the two tubes, and then turned the ignition on. I was expecting fluid EVRYWHERE, but nothing!!! Have I cleaned the right one???? The car still feels the same!!

Alright mate, try putting current across the terminals (9volt battery or wires to your car batt usually work) and if you hear it click (and it jolts) it's working. Try blowing through it while you're doing this (obviously use a bit of tubing so you don't get muck or brakefluid on yer lips, oo eerr) and you should notice you can blow through it and then it blocks, depending on whether there is current flowing or not. Hope this helps

If it's knackered get a boost controller

Cheers Paul, WTF are you doing on here!!! I thought you'd be working on the SX Also, I thought I'd just be able to turn the ignition on, according to the other threads!! I do get boost, its just when its cold, it surges a bit. Getting my decat downpipe fitted this week, so hopefully i'll notice a BIG difference

I'm working on getting a few new bit supplied ATM and I've only just got out of work so it's being left unmolested for today (and so is the SX )

I got told that my giving it boot in first was causing the probs with my boost solanoid (when I had the Scoob) but then I fitted a catch tank to stop the breathers from gunking up. It would suprise you just how quickly the tank fills up!

Yeh the downpipes sound nice as well as you can here the turbo spool.
