David, John Banks did a huge huge thread in Projects on this about 2 years ago, killer thread but very informative.
Best take a look at AndyF's thread first though as thing are moving on...

The best way? Get a spare manifold and hand it over to Wallis or Forrest and let them modify it for you...then fit it...and make all the other little adaptions that are necessary...it's really only worth it if you relocate your turbo too, so that all your pipe work for the front mount is reduced to about 3 feet

got a tdo5/6 20 g so i was thinking about turning the compressor side of the turbo round towards the inner wing so goes straight in just have to sort out brackets for the actuator

and the alternator

Dont forget that you will lose the std mounting points for the actuator if you rotate the cover.. (assuming IW)

No he didnt. I did.

And I wouldnt say things are moving on, Andy is doing something different, and I wouldnt recommend anyone except a hanfull off here attempt it.. and Id at least wait for his thoughts when its done!

STD Phase 1 Inlet is good for 500Bhp

I use a modified Phase 1 inlet.

Whats the spec of the car, as rotating the inlet will give you virtually no benefits and 100's of headaches.

At that spec (ie, turbo, hp level), I cannot see any major benefits of rotating the Inlet or the turbo.

Best to maybe raise the Phase 1 manifold on nylon spacers and run a MY97- Inlet hose instead of the 90 degree Samco hose you currently run on your MY93.

Having done front entry on several cars, TD05 and TD05-06 20G I have found there is little to be gained over the 90 deg entry. Best results so far were F.E. with a 90 deg bend pointing at the driverside wing and plumbed onto an inlet tract and filter from there.

At least someone listens to me. No-many up here do!

The ones that do have big power figures at the moment (STi7@370bhp, STi5@379bhp, UK MY00@309bhp,etc) but some still rather prefer to go to local "professional" outfits.

I don't bother me as I make very little on doing this stuff - it's only a hobby.

David - Go front entry on the turbo, but LEAVE THE MANIFOLD ALONE!

At least until the 2.5 goes in!

Will your existing FMIC outlets lend themselves to the pipework flow directions required for the conversion? If you have to start altering the end tanks or purchasing an alternative FM then it could add a fair bit of cost or complication.

Do you have access to fabrication facilities as without this it could be a nightmare.
