Default GT Spec II uppipe leak?

Hi

Am I the only one having problems with the GT Spec gen II headers leaking in the joint between uppipe and headers? What is the solution, velding them together?

Thanks in advance

Rasmus

Rasmus, i have no problem with it but a friend of mine had the same.
The solution for him was a new gasket and a minor film of gungum (heat resistent gasket in a tube).
No problems afterwards.

I fittet a new gasket last night, so hopefully that will solve the problem. If not I'll just weld them together :-)

Thanks

the top bolt can be a barst.
you can use bigger bolts/nuts and use both gaskets that came in the box.
I had a small leak but a bit more of a turn and a few thou miles and its cooked itself sealed anyways

In any way, the best solution when you firt an aftermarket exhaust part is to use OEM gaskets, even if some ones are delivered with the kits.
Compare OEM gaskets with aftermarket ones and you will understand why they are better. Don't use any Gun-Gum, it's not necessary !

they do supply two sets of gaskets with them so just double up if you need to
