Question strange clutch problem

iv noticed on occasion that when giving it full throttle through the gears, after changing into say 2nd, then 3rd, on releasing the clutch and planting the throttle the revs will jump up to say 5-6k instead of 4-5k where they should be and then stop there untill the car is at speed for those revs.

As iv not had the car long, so have onyl just got used to driving it. (the clutch is very different to my previous car)

Iv done a few road tests, and i can floor it in any gear at any speed and am getting no clutch slip whatsoever. I have also noticed that when this happened this morning, the clutch pedal was not being released to its fullest which im guessing is whats causing the problem.

Also this doesnt happen if i change gear slower and then floor it, only when i do a fast gear change!

Other times it doesnt happen at all, even when flat out through all the gears!

Originally the clutch fluid pipe had an 'egg' in it, causing the pedal to not come up fully due to fluid ebing in the 'egg', but that was replaced with a custom braided bit of hose and now the pedal always comes back up fully when driving other than as described above!

there is no smell of burning clutch or anything like that!

Any ideas? the clutch was replaced 12 months back.

the car is an MY95 WRX 280bhp.

thanks a lot!
