sti vs standard wrx backbox
Would fiting a sti backbox have a performance advantage over the original backbox on my newage wrx (bugeye). I will also be fitting a prodrive sports cat downpipe & de-cat middle sections. I ask this because i don't want loud & there are one or two for sale on this site, or am i just better getting something like a prodrive & putting up with a the extra noise,

There is a marginal increase I believe, certainly with the other changes you are making, and it looks a whole lot better. Had one fitted to my bugeye and wasn't loud at all

Had to do the same to my MY02 WRX. The STI BB appeared to change the exhaust note, but didn't make it any louder. It also gave it a little more power - nothing significant tho.

Ninja is the way! I am converted! I love it.
My Scorpion backbox was the "over the counter" version of the PPP backbox, both same make, and very similar specs. I believe the PPP is 3.5" whereas mine was 4" tail pipe.
But the Ninja pisses all over it for sounds, looks, and it has to give me more power! LOL. (i have to justify buying it somehow!)
That is 2 backboxes in less than 2 years
EDIT: Now i have just re-read the original post, if you want quiet, you do NOT want the Ninja. My Scorpion made the car louder than standard, but i feel would be fine for your needs, BUT, i got rid of it as after i went decat, etc, i felt it sounded far too boomy and resonated too much at motorway speeds, whereas the Ninja for me gives me fantastic sounds and burble, but it is actually quieter at motorway speeds than my Scorpion was. (no resonance noise)
To stay quiet, there are still a lot of options for you though.
My Scorpion backbox is also for sale.

But ninja is quiet....standing or rolling on the road...only when you floor it, it gives you that burble jet whossh divine sound!
Go for it....i also had your fears of not too loud bb, and believe me...ill not going back!
