Default Clutch Problem?

Hello there.... I think I may have a problem and wanted to get a round-up of advice to keep in my head when I take her to the garage

I've a full decat/air inducted MY96 STi - Car runs sweet as a nut even with this problem.

In first gear I put my foot down and rag it, swiftly changing to 2nd and 3rd - I notice that my clutch pedal doesn't return to the top but stays depressed - so much so that I have to hook my foot under it to bring it back up. Even when it's depressed the car runs ok.

Something simple?

Mine did something similar and made a strange noise when I pressed it down. Sounded like a creaking floorboard. Apparantly a bush needed lubricating on mine but that was a MY00 UK car so might be a different thing.

Yes, I guess mine is a bit squeaky... and sometimes hard to pop into first gear too.

Sounds like the hydraulic fluid might be contaminated. Try bleeding the system through until you get clean brake fliud through the nipple. (dont forget to keep the resovoir topped up when you do this) ,also check the return spring is fitted to the clutch arm.

Cool.. thanks Karl. I'm having my new breaks fitten in the next week or so, so will have the break fluid replaced anyway. I will get him to check the spring at the same time hopefully

I got these for 550.00 and only done 3k according to the seller
