Default Apexi PFC with commander or AVC-R?

What would be the best set up. I'll be buying an Apexi PFC shortly, but would it be best to run it with a commander unit or would and AVC-R be a better choice to run with the PFC.
Thanks for you input.

I'm going for the commander since you can switch between 4 boost limits, although you don't get the in gear options that you get with the AVCR.

What exactly do you want to do over and above the PFC map?

I wouldn't really say commander or AVC-R, they do different things. I'd ask do i get the AVC-R or the option Boost control kit for the Power FC. Then you comparing Apples with apples.

Personally even f you don't plan on chnaging the map the commander is good just for monitoring.

I'd get both . Also remember the Power FC can control boost without any additional boxes of tricks and give 4 boost settings. The level is limited by the standard MAP sensor, so not much over a bar on pre97 and about 1.7bar ish on post 97.

Don't you need the commander to switch between the 4 different boost settings?

Yes, what i meant was without any additional boost related additional boxes... i.e boost control kit or avc-r.

Unless you're good at mind control then the commander is needed

I would go with the AVC-R for controlling boost, is far more flexible, and more accurate than the PFC as you can control boost and duty cycle dependant on RPM. You can also use the gear detection to increase the duty cycle in lower gears to improve spoolup.
