do you know when the g-box is on it's way out?

When you get whining, when do you get it? Acceleration, deceleration, cruising or what?

 

Well its fair to say that discribes mine. it started last thursday on a long motorway run first was the whining, which stopped the next day (mayb allowing the box to cool down) and then came back with vengance yesterday on another long run. at first it was only a whine on acceleration but by last night the mid throttle cruise was thowing up some interesting screeching (poss from diff) and graunching noises on tight bends. I checked my oil the night of the first noise and it was perfectly clear but last night was a different story, black, in a few days! Somethings not right and if the oil dont get changed soon i fear the box wont make it through the week. so im off too see if a can get some fluids or some prices on box parts!! wish me luck
