Which gearbox oil for DCCD?
Hi, looking to replace the oil in my MY95 STI RA,
According to the previous owners reciepts, it has Redline HSP, but reading on 22B.com it seems less recommended these days.
What is the oil of chioce?
Its a daily driver that will do trackdays, will be running 340ish BHP, hopefully 320ish Lbft
Did a search but didn't find anything conclusive..
Cheers

As far as I am aware it is not LS compatable as the DCCD system requires. The other LS systems used in various models (viscous, suretrac etc ) are ok with non LS fluids such as Driveline.

but...
Newer DCCD does not need LSD additives, STI MY05 for USDM and European only states API GL-5 for Gearbox and API-GL5 with LSD additive for rear differential. I just checked these from the original service manuals.

I got some comma stuff for mine (think it was comma) it was red in colour - that was LS compatible (old man works in the trade and gets stuff when he can) thought "i needed syntrax" glad I didn't get it if it is not LS compatible! (I have a Type R so have the DCCD gear box too!)!
Can't find any mention of driveline on here http://www.castrol.com/castrol/secti...tentId=6009166

redline do an oil which isnt in their Shock Proof range which is meant to be ideal for synchro gearboxes.
try asking johnfelstead on 22b.com, he did some research into this.
I use Heavyweight SP in my synchroed gearbox and it has been great so far but I will still be changing to the one john recommends next time I am due a gearbox oil change.

Ive got Millers crx 75w/90, but noticed before I put it in that there is a different variant for lsd's. It mentions it on millers website. I have an old type r so havent used the oil as i'm concerned about damaging the LSD's and dccd
