Default HELP! scooby is possibly fooooked? (not mine)

this is copied and pasted from a mate! MAF sensor maybe???

sisters Prodrive tuned Impreza is having problems. This is what she said to me -

Knock link and lamda sensor guage lit up to knock link about 4k-5k revs after dropping down a gear.

It seems to be misfiring, popping and banging. She stopped and turned engine off, restarted and "check engine" light came on.

Past two times similar thing happened, replaced airflow meter because lambda sensor was away.

Any info would be great.
