Oil filter

Is the oil filter in a 98MY stiv4 type r the same as the oil filter from a uk turbo from a uk dealer?

all subaru turbo oil filters are the same from 1990>
they recently superseded the old style 'fat' filter for a more slimline look but the fitting is the same.............
