Question Sensible question. I need a new re-circ dump valve - which one?

I bought an MY99 JDM STI5 Type R yesterday and at the moment it's fitted with a god-awful Bailey VTA dump valve.

Apart from the boy-racer noises it makes, the idle isn't stable and gearchanges under power are accompanied by a big jolt - rather than being nice and smooth as they should. The sooner it goes the better!

My local Subaru main dealer isn't open until tuesday. Does anyone know offhand what a standard Subaru re-circ one costs? I was going to pop in and get a nice new standard Subaru one to put on, but am just wondering if it's worth buying a different re-circ like a Forge etc?

I'm planning to get a Tek3 soon if that makes any difference.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Defo Forge Re-curculating and for your own sake dont buy a Vta one.

They only take about 5-min to fit.

Hmmm, just found this on the GGR website. I think I'll give them a call on tuesday, if it's a genuine Subaru re-circ then i'll probably get it. I *think* I remember Bob Rawle saying he was using a standard Subaru re-circ on his modded STI5 and it was fine. I'm sure Forge ones are very good but they're over £100, if the standard one is ok then I'll save a few quid and get that.

Don't worry, no chance of that!

I just wanting to replace the VTA one which was on the car when I bought it (2 days ago!) with a decent re-circ.
