Default Swapping Fuel?

Could any one tell me of any known issues with swapping fron UK unleaded to Optimax or any 97 RON fuel on my MY99 UK Spec, i know the ECU will adapt to the new fuel. Im just concirned about Knock and burning out pistons and valves and stuff, any known problems would be appreciated.

Thanks, Dan

If you are going from normal 95 unleaded to optimax / super you are reducing the chances of any of the problems you mention.

Cool, in that case does it matter which super is used, obviously Optimax seems to be the fuel of choise for the masses, but im not sure there is a shell station round here. Might have to take a run out and find one.

Sorry to keep on, last 2 questions i promise!!,

1, Is the extra performance worth the extra cost of the fuel?

2, No damage "should" be induced by swaping cause the engine has been run on 95ron (I asume since 99)?

You'll have to forgive me, im new to all this. I will stop soon.
