Default MOT...do i put centre cat in first?

...My fully decatted Classic goes in for her MOT tomorrow.
Should i put the centre section cat in first then give the car a good warm up before the emissions test or just warm her up first then put the centre cat in?
Will putting the centre cat in for the MOT mess up the Tek3 remap?

thanks

Talking

couldbe a bit painful (damn hot) removing the de-cat pipe once the cars warmed up.

i just needed to put the centre cat back in to pass emissions, i have TEK2 remap and called up PE who did the map and they said put it on, drive up and down the motorway and a gentle pace (i assumed they meant as much off boost as possible) for about half hour, get the test done and take it back off as soon as possible.

i had mine back home, up on some ramps and within 10 mins it was cool enough to work on

Definately put the cat on for the MOT. I tried to get through mine without one and the CO2 at idle was at 1.12 when limit was 0.50. Went back next day with centre cat nicely warmed and ti passed no problems. Was decatted again the following day .

No point putting cat on after warming engine??? defeats the object - cat must be hot.

Soon the MOT system is going to be computerised and police will be able to check emission values and compare them with your MOT emissions, so we may all have to keep some form of Cat on our cars.

you've not got a hope in hell passing without any cat. The centre cat shouldn't screw up the driveability with your Tek3. Just don't go daft putting the car underload.

How hot it needs to be will depend on the cats condition. I've past 3 MOT's and never bothered getting the cat hot beforehand.

In fact during the 2nd MOT the centre pipe was just stuffed on the end of the tailpipe to check before and after results. It would have passed with it not properly mounted.

Maybe if the USA stopped making huge crapie cars and stopped chucking so much polusion in the air we might get a tiny brake on things like CATs being fitted
The funny thing is in about 10 years we will all be told there is a link between cancer or somthing and Cats being fitted on cars lmao
Cos when a car is worked on in a main dealer they have to put a vent pipe on the tail pipe to remove the fums use to work at Vauxhall when Cats were being first put on normal every day cars the merchanics use to say they stunk to high heaven

...have to say the WR1 is a very tasty beast. Gave it a good blast out in the sticks and a drive around town. Shed loads of smooth power all through the gears. Lovely gear box. Also very driveable around town.
