Boost pressure
Hello just fitted an boost gauge in my sti 2 and it hit 0.9 bar was wondering if i can go any further with an boost controler or do i need to get an uprated ecu first .
When i fit the boost controller do i just remove the stantard boost solonoid and plug it in the same pipes?

Recirc dump valve is the best, std is good item!
Too much boost and you get violent fuel cut at about 17 - 17.5 PSI ( 1.15 bar boost ).
Fuel cut defenders get around this, but you can then blow up as no stop to your high boost! Also, too much boost = too much air and your fuel system / injectors / pump etc. can't send enough fuel and you get weak mixture, and then blow up!
Ideal situation is mappable ECU, boost controller, fuel pump and regulator upgrade, then see how it goes, maybe biger injectors later after other mods like full decat exhaust and induction.
New boost controller - you need to wire it into the ECU feed wires so it sees your boost ( MAP wire ) and that goes to the boost control solenoid ( original or new depending on kit ) which then lets YOU control boost limit.
Other wise same pipes for the solenoid parts - one from the turbo silver part ( engine pressure ) one to rusty side ( pressure to open wastegate) and if a 3 port solenoid, to atmosphere or inlet responator box.
