Question Mot and Cat question

How long would it take to get the middle cat fully hot? I forgot I removed (read melted) the front 1 and took the car in for the MOT and it failed. The readings were dropping but not enough when they first tested.

Would a 2 hour run @70 mph then a test straight after work to get the readings low enough?

Cheers
Simon

What car do you have? I never bothered getting mine hot and it passed easily - MY99 RB5 with a 3yr old centre cat.

i went for a half hour 70mph run up and down the motorway then to the garage, it sat there for about 10 mins then passed with flying colours.

unless you're going somewhere at the same time, i wouldn't bother wasting the juice for 2 hours, would have thought temps are up to normal operating temp within 1/2 hour?

will need a good run if you do alot of short runs though ( i know mine did! )
