Default clutch not returning properly.

Changed the fluid at the weekend and since then the pedal doesn't return fully. It still works and i can drive the car, although rather carefully, but it has to be pulled up the last 10-20mm. I've tried bleeding the system while the pedal is pressed, but it doesn't seem to be helping. I never completely drained the fluid right out the clutch and it was working fine before, but the fluid was dirty...the reason for changing, but now this is happeneing, i wish i hadn't bothered me ****!

My pedal use to stick to the floor too.
Double check the rubber boot on the slave cylinder for splits etc.
You could try stretching the spring inside the slave cylinder then re-assembling it all.
I tried all the above but still had no joy.
In the end I had to adjust the free play in the clutch pedal.
Mind you I had a complete clutch change (225mm to 230mm)

It's not staying at the floor though. It is returning, but not ALL the way up. It still has about 10-20mm left of travel before it's fully back up to it's rightfull position.

You need to force the slave cylinder piston all the way in and hold it there with a lever. THEN; bleed again preventing the piston from moving. Once bled, let the piston out slowly by releasing the pressure on the lever and following the pedal down by foot.

Then reconnect the spring and PRESTO full travel both ways.
