ss down pipe
I've got a scoobysport BB, everthing else standard. If I replaced the down pipe only leaving the standard middle section would i
1. gain useful power
2. still pass omisions
3. keep about the same noise level as present (not too loud)
4. be spotted at service time (warranty)
5. really need remap as well?
what dya reckon?

1) Yes (also brings turbo in 500rpm lower)
2) If the car is tested when hot
3) No, it would be louder.
4) Most probably
5) Not necessary, but useful to really exploit the better breathing.
Would need to know more about the car to advise further.

Slight differnt angle to this,
How much extra noise / power would expect to gain from fitting a cat free up pipe - like in the STI's to a standard WRX apart from back box ?

According to a lot of people on here the car will not pass emmissions with centre cat only. Its 2 years away anyway, you never keep a car that long, so don't worry
It will sound like my last bugeye, and you know how good that sounded, as did the neihbours after you ragged it up the street!
Forget PPP, Full decat and Tek3, you know it makes sense
