Default oil problems HELP!

Hi, i drive a k reg wrx type ra and Got a bit of an oil leak. Can anyone help?there was a build up of pressure, i think a gasket has blown, there seemed to be a lot of pressure coming out the oil filling point when i opened it could it be the pcv (pressure control valve) that is faulty? any ideas where it is and where i could get a new one. Or am i totally off the mark.

cheers chris

on idle the oil filler with the cap of does blow a little..

where is the oil leaking from?

you could indeed have a blocked breather.

Is the oil overfilled?

Alright jolly green monster.

looking at my engine from above it looks perfect. i had it up on ramps a couple of days ago, pretty much the whole bottom of the engine is covered in oil. it seems to be leeking mainly from drivers side though.

depends if you are handy with a spanner I guess.

The cam cover is fairly easy to change, and the most likely cause and not too expensive.

Depending on your location you might do better to take to www.asperformance.com
www.scoobyclinic.com etc depending on your location.

Or you could take to the dealer of course.

The cam seal is behind the cam wheels so it is easiest to check / change any leaking ones at cambelt change as it has to come off to do it.
