Lots of options tbh...
depends on what you want to spend, for a budget option i would use 850's
For the next in line i see Andy F has some 740's and adapters for £430 in scoobyshop
IIRC the scoobymania Phase 1 direct fit injectors i fitted for someone were about £400 ish, as it goes maybe £450...

Nathan, with a bit of tweeking phase 2 rails will fit an early phase 1 manifold (ie pre MY97/8 phase 1.5) and then you can buy phase 2 injectors...740cc from an Nissan S14 SR20DET engine cost me 360 quid all in IIRC

419bhp, but with an ajustable fuel reg you can run them at 110% and you might get 430

Incidentaly with the S14 SR20DET injectors you need to modify the connectors to get the standard Impreza sockets to fit (it can be done and has been discussed on 22b), or get the injector loom off an S14 200SX for the correct sockets.

I had to change to 740'S @around 360bhp!! Was @ 100% IDC on 3.4bar FPR on my 550's
I know all cars are different etc, but I think you would be pushing the limits of the Pump/inj's trying to get 400bhp+ from 4X550's IMHO Not to say it can't be done mind, just that I'd rather have the security/piece of mind of not running everything at max!!
(as Rob says, Andy had 5 i reckon )

I would personally go for the 740's straight away. Will save you having to buy again when you want to go further (in future, you're bound to )
Higher initial cost maybe, but once fitted, you can forget about them til at least 450-500bhp levels IMHO. 550's would only be a stop gap, such as happened to me.
Also the pump will tire running at higher fuel pressures after time too (mine did that too!)
AndyF is doing a good deal on Tomei 740's
