Default where does the power from the zorst comes from

can someone tell me the extra power that you get out when you put a new zorst is it from the pipe (down or up)or is it from the backbox itself
i wanna know cos none of the backboxes in the market impresses me at all.
(even though i already done my zorst 7")
i just wanna know in case i do get a new car next year,
i thought the bb only produces the sound

The extra power comes from the up pipe, down pipe and larger bore centre section. for ultimate power you could try an equal length manifold

Best option if you want to keep 1 cat is to replace the cat in the downpipe and retain the one in the centre section, some cars can get through an MOT with just this cat. The downpipe is the biggest restriction, id also get a decent back box.. This is all asuming you have a UK car as JAP imports dont have a cat in the centre section..

Also the extra power mainly comes from the extra air flow into the engine and out, one major point to remember is dont take is to far with out adding extra fuel (ie uprated ECU map) as your engine will go bang

extra power come from which ever part you change that allows the exhaust gases to escape quicker differenet makes and types of exhuast are better so its up to you on which you choose but the type you choose ultimately effects your bhp/lbs

All the facotry parts can be improved and more HP released. Any time you get rid of a cat the difference is significant, and the stock backbox is baffled rather than straight through, so changing it usually gives a at least a few % increase.
