You are correct in thinking your wagon has a TD04
JDM Classic WRX Wagons came with the TD04 and JDM Classic WRX Saloons had the TD05. The TD05 will fit your car but you will require either an ECU which is mapped for the TD05 or a Scoobyecu which has the solenoid duty map/boost map for TD05

Cheers

A boost controller would suffice - but remember to either leave the original boost control solenoid 'electrically' connected or fit a resistor (Same value of Solenoid Coil) across the plug if you intend to remove the oem solenoid as you will get a CEL warning if you don't Also the std ECU will have a boost cut which will halt proceedings if you exceed 14.5psig (1 bar) boost

Cheers

If you use a resistor, a 1K one would be better. 30 ohm or whatever it is for the solenoid gets quite hot and/or needs to be quite bulky.

1K doesn't give you a CEL.

10 KOhm will work perfectly also, that's the value I always use.

10k (but not 1k) gives a historical (always historical never current) solenoid fault code on mine, but that is what I still have on there. I think it must be of such resistance that there is a momentary fault on starting up. Would be interested to see if anyone else has noticed this. Maybe it is my dodgy wiring/earthing
