Question Best exhaust to get?

My brother has a standard MY00 Turbo 2000 and wants to change his exhaust. His requirements are:

Louder
Unleash the burble
and most importantly increase power.

He doesnt want a silly size tailpipe and wants it inwardly rolled. Hes thinking around 3" for the tailpipe.

He understands a full system will be around £500-600

Can people give recommendations/suggestions?

HKS Hiper is the only exhaust i would consider, good sound/good power gain.

Only one IMO based on what you have said, is the Hayward & Scott System.

Mark, if he needs it fitting cheap when he gets one, give me a shout.

Have a look at my projects thread and see if the exhaust I have on my STi9 is the sort of look he is after, its available for both JDM and Eurospec GC8, GDA and GDB cars.

New Scoobysport or the previous H&S Scoobysport system.

I've got a H&S 3.5 inch backbox and am very happy with the sound, lovely burble/woffle when warm, loud enough to get attention, but not so loud as to annoy people. If you go for the full system you can always specify how loud you'd like it to be etc.... Not a huge increase in performance from changing the backbox alone (just big improvement in sound), for that you'd need to decat the down pipe and centre section. This liberates anything up to 30bhp -if memory serves- and wakes the turbo up 500rpm earlier! :-)
