Default Safe to change intake pipe on current map??

I have an MY97 UK with the following spec:

Full 2.5" Decat
DR Motorsport GT Spec gen II headers and Up-pipe.
K&N Induction kit.
Forge VTA dump valve.
Andy F TD05/06 -20g turbo.
Greddy Profec e-01 boost controller @ 1.3bar.
Hybrid FMIC.
550 injectors.
Apexi Power FC mapped by Andy F
Walbro fuel pump and regulator.
Boost, oil pressure, oil temp and AFR guages, and of course a knocklink.
Knocklink never gets above second green.

I have just descovered I have a split in my induction pipe so have ordered a Samco silicone one to replace it.

Will it be safe on my current map or will it get a bit lean?

Running as it is - or once Samco silicon pipe is fitted?

Cheers

By inlet pipe, I assume you mean the one with the various breather pipes that goes under the inlet manifold?

In theory, I believe the marginal improvement in air flow should be comfortably compensated by the MAF reading (Power FC does still use the MAF, I take it?), and therefore I'd be amazed if you get any problems - and you have the guages to keep an eye on it anyway. If the split in your esiting one is big, seal it up with something, as that may let air in that bypasses the MAF and therefore will go a bit lean. I fitted equivalent hose to my Tek'd bugeye, no problems so far.

Are you actually worried that if it leans off too much, your flamer kit won't work any more, so you won't fit in properly around Bosnia?

Yes that's the pipe I meant. The split is right at the turbo inlet and difficult to get to so I'm not going to try to seal it up. The Power FC still uses the MAF, I'm pretty certain the extra flow will be compensated for as you say, but I thought I'd post just to get a few more opinions on it.

And your right, flamer kits are now the law in Bosniyate (a law which I started I'll have you know ), so I don't want it leaning off too much
