Question Can I use a maf from a later model car

Is it possible to convert or use a maf sensor from a later model car, to run on the older model car?. Is it a different plug connection? and is there more or less wires between the two on the plug connector?, or do the give totally different readings?,as there is a hell of a price difference between the two, cos I think mine is on its way out.
Cheers

I would be inclined to stick with the same MY MAF unless you can rescale it with your ecu. the later MAF's are also a lot more fragile so you may be jumping out of the frying pan as they say..
