Default Decat Exhaust - ECU Remap needed????

I am looking to change my original exhaust system to a full decated system.
Question: Do I need a remap of the ECU. It's a MY98 - STI4. I'll replace the panel filter at the same time. Some people insist that a remap is needed. The car runs quite rich at the moment; on G-Force's rollers anyway.
Any advice appreciated.

not needed but would certainly benefit, dont do what i did though,i decatted it,had re-map then added headers,up-pipe,induction kit,now needs to be 'tweaked'.

IMO wot would be best is,do all your mods then get it re-mapped ;-0
