Default Diff wind up

When i drive my 53 plate STI on full lock either backwards or forwards, I seem to be getting wind up from the LSD's. The front end crabs as one wheel slips. Does anyone else get this ?
Can't remember this happening from new ?

Beginning to suspect the suretrac, maybe its the cause of the poor handling Im getting too.

And my heater matrix is leaking in the GT4, what a week !

Never had this myself.
Had a few moments while on full boost overtaking on wet white lines, but hey I've had that on all my cars.

I don't mean the wheel tugging, I mean the front crabs when manouvering.

Do you have DCCD - if so make sure it's set to open, otherwise diff wind up does happen.

Nope, its a 53 plate STi type UK.

The front end crabs, you can hear the tyres skipping when going forwards or back on full lock. Cant remember it doing it when it was new.

Every time I reverse off the drive it does it.

Also noticed the gear leaver moves back and forwards about 1/2" but only in first ?

Somethings going on, back to the dealer next week I think.

****e.
I have the same thing I think....

when you say Crab- do you mean it feels like it moves sideways ever so slightly?
I kept thinking It was a big stone under the front tyre as it makes quite a noise......

bugger bugger bugger...

John- what kind of complications could this create?
(my car is a UK too)

excesive tyre wear and crap handling can be centre diff related. It's not that common to have issues with VC centre diffs unless you run a lot of power or abuse them.

Thanks John.
what do you define as a lot of power? AdamM/Pavlo?

Is this 'clunk' indicative of ONLY the centre diff having problems?

Yes, it feels like a stone shifting under the front wheels.

I would have though it was the front diff ?

It happens when on full lock which would mean the front wheels are rotating at different speeds

Notice that it happens really badly when its cold, makes me think the center diff is causing it, would the cold thicken the liquid and lock up the diff more ?

Anyone ?

Should this be happening ?

Mine has done this the last two days reversing off the drive on full lock. 1st day I had to get out and give it a quick check over. I guess its just the cold weather tightening up the center diff.
