Anyone given a Drive shaft a new BJ ?
I have a 97 with a bad noise that indicates the front nearside bell joint has gone on the outside of the driveshaft.
Has anyone attempted to replace this and can it be done without special tools ?
Or has anyone got an idea how much a garage might charge ?
Cheers

Take the shaft off the car,put it in the vice and hit down on the edge of the cv joint. It 'should'come off,but can sometimes give a lot of hassle.
Wouldnt mind getting a BJ off a shaft polisher.

Thanks, but I've found out that the CV joints come attached to the drive shaft anyway £196 +VAT. Have also found out breakers will do them for £85 delivered. Just hope I get the side that the scrapped car didnt land on :-)
Cheers though
